First, the glass bottle is renewable and has gradually become a packaging material encouraged by the government.
The bottle can be recycled after use, and the product quality is not affected, which can effectively solve the problem of processing after the use of packaging materials, reduce environmental pollution, and realize product recycling and resource saving. As early as the "Two sessions" in 2018, NPC representatives suggested promoting the use of glass bottles as beverage packaging containers to reduce environmental pollution and save resource consumption. With the deepening of the government's construction of an environmentally friendly and resource-saving society, the continuous improvement of regulatory requirements, and the enhancement of social residents' awareness of environmental protection and resource conservation, glass bottles have gradually become the packaging materials encouraged by the government.
Furthermore, there has been an increase in the enforcement of regulations concerning industrial policies like energy conservation and environmental protection. This has resulted in a greater emphasis on monitoring and control in the market, with a particular focus on dominant enterprises within the industry.
The glass packaging container manufacturing industry in China has undergone significant changes in recent times. To facilitate structural adjustments and industrial modernization, the Chinese government has introduced crucial industrial policies. These policies focus on promoting energy conservation and reducing emissions, as well as efficient utilization of resources. With these policies in place, the glass packaging container manufacturing industry is being guided towards eco-friendly and energy-saving practices.
In November 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology took a significant step by revising the "Daily Glass industry Access Conditions (2017 edition)." This revision aimed to provide clarity on the construction standards and energy consumption requirements for new or rebuilt projects in the daily glass industry. Additionally, it encouraged the development of high-quality glass products, such as lightweight glass bottles, high-grade glassware, and special varieties.
One of the primary focuses of this policy change was to eliminate outdated production capacity within the industry. Enterprises with outdated technology, high energy consumption, and small scale were recognized to be hindering progress. Therefore, these enterprises will either be phased out or merged with more advanced counterparts.
On the other hand, the revised policy also sought to support and expand enterprises that possess superior technology, substantial scale, and well-established brands. By incentivizing the growth of such enterprises, the government aims to foster a trend of continuous concentration among industry leaders. This strategic approach brings with it the anticipation of improved efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness in the market.
Overall, the Ministry's proactive measures emphasize the government's commitment to promoting sustainable development and growth within the daily glass industry. By setting construction and energy consumption standards, encouraging the production of high-quality glass products, and nurturing capable enterprises, the industry is expected to undergo positive transformations that will benefit both the market and consumers.
Furthermore, it is important to note that regional limitations tend to affect the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, whereas larger corporations have the advantage of expanding their operations across different regions.
The economic transportation radius of glass bottle manufacturers typically spans up to about 500 kilometers, with their sales area being somewhat limited for smaller and medium-sized glass packaging container manufacturers, mainly staying within their region of origin. As a result, their cross-regional business capacity may be inadequate. In contrast, larger enterprises in the industry can increase their sales coverage by constructing manufacturing facilities in different regions.
